Creating a Time Entry
Go to Time Recording and click New Time Entry, or use the Time tab inside a matter.
Fill in:
Matter — which matter the time relates to
Date — the date the work was performed
Duration — enter minutes or units (they convert automatically)
Activity code — the type of work (e.g. Attendances, Correspondence, Drafting, Research)
Description — a clear description of the work done (this appears on the invoice)
Hourly rate — auto-filled from your billing grade; you can override it
Billable — tick if this time will be charged to the client
Optional:
Location — Office, Remote, Court, Client Site, etc.
Task — link to a specific matter task
Document — link to the document being worked on
Matter stage — for phase-based cost analysis
Click Save.
Units: 6-minute units are calculated automatically from the duration you enter. For example, 15 minutes = 2.5 units. You can also type units directly.
