6. If a field prints literally in the output

If the generated document shows {{ recipient_postcode }} as text instead of a value, one of these is true:

1. The name is misspelled or not in Section 3. → Fix the name.

2. The data is missing on the matter (e.g. the contact has no postcode). → That's expected; CaseConnect leaves the placeholder visible on purpose so the fee earner can fix the data. Not a template bug.

3. The braces were broken by formatting. → Delete the field and retype it cleanly.

When in doubt, use Settings → Merge Fields → Live Preview to test a single field against a real matter and confirm the exact name.
